This Hadith has been mentioned in the present chapter for the reason that it holds fear as well as hope. If one
remembers Allah in the meals, he can hope for the Pleasure of Allah. One should also bear in mind that it is He who
gives everything. If He likes, He can forefeit all those things or in spite of providing all the riches, deprive one of
hunger and thirst, as it does happen in certain diseases. May Allah protect us from such deprivations.

لﺎﻗ ، ﻢﱠﻠَﺳو ِﻪْﻴَﻠَﻋ ُﷲا ﻰّﻠَﺻ ﱢﻲﺒﻨﻟا ﻦﻋ ، ﻪﻨﻋ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ﻲﺿر ، ﻰﺳﻮﻣ ﻲﺑأ ﻦﻋو
:
»
ُﻂُﺴْﺒَﺑ ،ﻰﻟﺎﻌﺗ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ﱠنِإ
ﻟﺎِﺑ ُﻩﺪَﻳ ُﻂُﺴْﺒَﻳَو ، ِرﺎَﻬﱠﻨﻟا ُءِﻲﺴُﻣ َبﻮُﺘَﻴَﻟ ِﻞﻴﱠﻠﻟﺎﺑ ُﻩَﺪَﻳ
ﺎﻬَﺑِﺮْﻐَﻣ ْﻦِﻣ ُﺲﻤﺸﻟا َﻊُﻠْﻄَﺗ ﻰﺘﺣ ِﻞﻴﱠﻠﻟا ُءﻲﺴُﻣ َبﻮُﺘَﻴﻟ ِرﺎﻬﱠﻨ
«

Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said,
"Allah, the Exalted, stretches
His Hand during the night so that those who commit sins by day may repent, and He stretches His Hand in the day
so that those who commit sins by night may repent. He keeps doing so until the sun rises from the West".

Commentary:
This Hadith has been mentioned before.
Allah's stretching of His Hands is one of His Attributes, and as Muslims we have to believe in this without
reasoning, as is the case with His other Attributes. This has been the stand of our pious predecessors (As-Salaf-us-
Salih). The process of acceptance of penitence by Allah will continue until the Day of Resurrection when the sun
will rise from the West and repenting or accepting Islam will not avail. Therefore, one should not make any delay in
penitence.
We must add here that, we must not name or qualify Allah except with what He or His Messenger (PBUH) has
named or qualified Him; without changing them or ignoring them completely or twisting the meanings or giving
resemblance to any created things:
"The Most Gracious (Allah) rose over the (Mighty) Throne"
. (20:5) above the seventh heaven; and He only
descends to the first (nearest) heaven during the day of `Arafah (Hajj, i.e., the 9th Dhul-Hijjah) and also during the
last third part of every night, as mentioned by the Prophet (PBUH), but He is with us by His Knowledge only, not in
His essence (Bi Dhatihi):
"There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer".

لﺎﻗ ﻪﻨﻋ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ﻲﺿر ، ﱢﻲِﻤَﻠﱡﺴﻟا ِءﺎﺒﻟاو ﻦﻴﻌﻟا ﺢﺘﻔﺑ َﺔَﺴْﺒَﻋ ﻦﺑ وﺮﻤَﻋ ٍﺢﻴﺠﻧ ﻲﺑأ ﻦﻋو
:
ﻲﻓ ﺎَﻧَأَو ُﺖﻨآ
ِﻤَﺴَﻓ ، َنﺎَﺛْوَﻷا َنوُﺪُﺒْﻌَﻳ ْﻢُهَو ، ٍءﻲﺷ ﻰﻠﻋ اﻮُﺴْﻴَﻟ ْﻢُﻬﱠﻧَأَو ، ٍﺔَﻟﻼَﺿ ﻰﻠَﻋ َسﺎﱠﻨﻟا ﱠنَأ ﱡﻦُﻇَأ ِﺔﱠﻴِﻠِهﺎَﺠﻟا
َﺔﱠﻜﻤِﺑ ٍﻞُﺟَﺮِﺑ ُﺖْﻌ
ِﺒْﺨُﻳ
ِﻔْﺨَﺘْﺴُﻣ ﻢﱠﻠَﺳو ِﻪْﻴَﻠَﻋ ُﷲا ﻰّﻠَﺻ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ُلﻮﺳر اَذِﺈَﻓ ،ِﻪْﻴَﻠَﻋ ُﺖْﻣِﺪَﻘَﻓ ، ﻲﺘَﻠِﺣاَر ﻰﻠَﻋ ُتْﺪَﻌَﻘَﻓ ، ًارﺎَﺒْﺧَأ ُﺮ
ُءاَءَﺮُﺟ ًﺎﻴ
ﻪﻟ ُﺖْﻠُﻘَﻓ ، ﺔﱠﻜَﻤِﺑ ِﻪﻴَﻠَﻋ ُﺖْﻠﺧَد ﻰﱠﺘَﺣ ُﺖْﻔﱠﻄَﻠَﺘَﻓ ، ُﻪُﻣْﻮَﻗ ِﻪﻴﻠﻋ
:
لﺎﻗ ؟ َﺖَﻧَأ ﺎﻣ
:
» ﻲﺒَﻧ ﺎﻧَأ

ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ﻲﻨِﻠَﺳْرَأ

ﺖﻠﻗ :
لﺎﻗ ؟ َﻚَﻠﺳْرَأ ٍءْﻲَﺷ ﱢيَﺄِﺑو
:
»
َﺪﱠﺣَﻮُﻳ ْنَأَو ، نﺎﺛْوَﻷا ِﺮﺴآو ، ِمﺎﺣْرَﻷا ِﺔَﻠِﺼِﺑ ﻲﻨﻠَﺳْرَأ
ءْﻲَﺷ ِﻪِﺑ ُكَﺮْﺸُﻳﻻ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا
«
ﺖﻠﻗ :
لﺎﻗ ؟ اﺬَه ﻰﻠَﻋ َﻚَﻌَﻣ ْﻦﻤَﻓ
:
»
ٌﺪْﺒَﻋَو ﺮُﺣ «
ﻜﺑ ﻮﺑَأ ٍﺬِﺌَﻣْﻮﻳ ُﻪﻌﻣو
ﻲﺿر ٌلﻼﺑو ﺮ
ﺎﻤﻬﻨﻋ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا

ﺖﻠﻗ :
لﺎﻗ ، َﻚُﻌﺒﱠﺘُﻣ ﻲﱢﻧِإ
اﺬَه َﻚَﻣْﻮَﻳ َﻚﻟذ َﻊﻴِﻄﺘﺴَﺗ ْﻦَﻟ َﻚﱠﻧِإ
.
ِﻦِﻜَﻟَو ؟ ِسﺎﱠﻨﻟا َلﺎﺣو ﻰﻟﺎَﺣ ىﺮَﺗ ﻻَأ
ﻲﻨِﺗْﺄَﻓ ُتْﺮَﻬَﻇ ﺪﻗ ﻲِﺑ َﺖْﻌﻤﺳ اذِﺈَﻓ َﻚِﻠْهَأ ﻰﻟِإ ْﻊﺟْرا
«
َﺻ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا لﻮﺳر َمِﺪَﻗَو ، ﻲﻠْهَأ ﻰﻟِإ ُﺖْﺒهﺬَﻓ لﺎﻗ
ِﻪْﻴَﻠَﻋ ُﷲا ﻰّﻠ
َﺔَﻨﻳﺪَﻤﻟا ﻢﱠﻠَﺳو
.
ﻲﻠْهَأ ﻲﻓ ُﺖﻨآو
.
ْﻦِﻣ ٌﺮﻔَﻧ َمِﺪَﻗ ﻰﱠﺘَﺣ ﺔﻨﻳﺪﻤﻟا َمِﺪَﻗ َﻦﻴﺣ َسﺎﱠﻨﻟا ُلَﺄْﺳَأَو ، َرﺎَﺒْﺧَﻷا ُﺮﱠﺒَﺨَﺗَأ ُﺖْﻠَﻌَﺠَﻓ
ُﺖﻠﻘﻓ ، َﺔﻨﻳﺪﻤﻟا ﻲﻠْهَأ
:
اﻮﻟﺎﻘﻓ ؟ َﺔﻨﻳﺪﻤﻟا مِﺪﻗ يﺬﻟا ُﻞُﺟﱠﺮﻟا اﺬه َﻞَﻌَﻓ ﺎﻣ
:
ِﻪﻴﻟِإ ُسﺎﱠﻨﻟا
، ُﻪَﻠْﺘَﻗ ﻪُﻣْﻮَﻗ َداَرَأ ْﺪَﻗَو ٌعاﺮِﺳ
ُﺖﻠﻘﻓ ، ِﻪﻴﻠﻋ ُﺖﻠَﺧَﺪَﻓ َﺔَﻨﻳﺪﻤﻟا ُﺖﻣِﺪَﻘَﻓ ، َﻚِﻟذ اﻮُﻌِﻴَﻄْﺘﺴَﻳ ْﻢَﻠَﻓ
:
لﺎﻗ ؟ ﻲﻨُﻓِﺮﻌَﺗَأ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا َلﻮﺳر ﺎﻳ
:
»
يﺬﱠﻟا َﺖﻧَأ ﻢﻌَﻧ
َﺔﻜﻤﺑ ﻲَﻨﺘﻴﻘَﻟ
«
لﺎﻗ :
ُﺖﻠﻘﻓ
:
َﻬْﺟَأَو ﻪﱠﻠﻟا َﻚﻤﱠﻠَﻋ ﺎﱠﻤﻋ ﻲﻧﺮﺒْﺧَأ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا لﻮﺳر ﺎﻳ
لﺎﻗ ؟ِةَﻼﱠﺼﻟا ِﻦَﻋ ﻲْﻧﺮِﺒﺧَأ ،ُﻪُﻠ
:
»
َﺑ ﻊﻠﻄﺗ ﻦﻴﺣ ُﻊُﻠْﻄَﺗ ﺎَﻬﱠﻧِﺈَﻓ ، ٍﺢْﻣُر َﺪﻴِﻗ ُﺲْﻤﱠﺸﻟا ِﻊَﻔﺗﺮَﺗ ﻰﱠﺘَﺣ ِةﻼﱠﺼﻟا ِﻦَﻋ ْﺮُﺼْﻗا ﱠﻢُﺛ ، ِﺢﺒﱡﺼﻟا َةَﻼَﺻ ﱢﻞَﺻ
ﻲَﻧْﺮَﻗ َﻦْﻴ
َﻼﱠﺼﻟا ﱠنِﺈَﻓ ، ﻞَﺻ ﱠﻢُﺛ ، ُرﺎﱠﻔﻜﻟا ﺎَﻬَﻟ ُﺪُﺠْﺴَﻳ ٍﺬِﺌﻨﻴِﺣَو ، ٍنﺎَﻄْﻴَﺷ
ةرﻮﻀﺤﻣ ةدﻮﻬﺸﻣ َة
.
ﱠﻢُﺛ ، ِﺢﻣﱡﺮﻟﺎﺑ ﱡﻞﱢﻈﻟا ﱠﻞِﻘﺘﺴﻳ ﻰﺘﺣ
ﻰﺘﺣ ةرﻮﻀﺤﻣ ٌةدﻮﻬﺸَﻣ َةﻼﱠﺼﻟا ﱠنِﺈﻓ ، ﱢﻞَﺼﻓ ءﻲَﻔﻟا َﻞﺒﻗَأ اذِﺈﻓ ، ُﻢﱠﻨَﻬَﺟ ُﺮَﺠﺴُﺗ ٍﺬﺌﻨﻴﺣ ﻪﻧِﺈﻓ ،ِةﻼﱠﺼﻟا ﻦﻋ ﺮُﺼْﻗا
ُبُﺮﻐُﺗ ﺎﻬﻧِﺈﻓ ، ُﺲﻤﺸﻟا َبُﺮْﻐَﺗ ﻰﺘﺣ ِةﻼﺼﻟا ﻦﻋ ﺮُﺼْﻗا ﻢﺛ َﺮﺼﻌﻟا َﻲﱢﻠَﺼُﺗ
ﺎﻬﻟ ُﺪُﺠْﺴَﻳ ٍﺬﺌﻨﻴﺣو ، ٍنﺎﻄﻴﺷ ْﻲﻧﺮَﻗ ﻦﻴﺑ
ُرﺎﱠﻔُﻜﻟا

لﺎﻘﻓ ؟ ﻪﻨﻋ ﻲﻨﺛّﺪﺣ ُءﻮﺿﻮﻟﺎﻓ ، ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ﱠﻲِﺒَﻧ ﺎﻳ
:
»
ُ
ﺾﻤْﻀَﻤَﺘَﻴَﻓ ، ُﻩَءﻮُﺿَو ُبﱢﺮَﻘُﻳ ﻞُﺟر ْﻢُﻜْﻨﻣ ﺎﻣ
ِﻪِﻤﻴِﺷﺎﻴﺧو ِﻪﻴﻓو ِﻪﻬﺟو ﺎَﻳﺎﻄﺧ ْتﱠﺮَﺧ ﱠﻻِإ ، ُﺮِﺜَﺘْﻨَﻴَﻓ ُﻖِﺸْﻨﺘﺴﻳو
.
َﻏ اذِإ ﻢﺛ
ﺎﻳﺎﻄﺧ تّﺮﺧ ﱠﻻِإ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ُﻩَﺮَﻣَأ ﺎﻤآ ُﻪَﻬﺟو َﻞَﺴ
ِءﺎﻤﻟا ﻊﻣ ِﻪِﺘَﻴْﺤﻟ ِفاﺮﻃَأ ْﻦِﻣ ِﻪِﻬﺟو
.
، ِءﺎﻤﻟا ﻊﻣ ِﻪِﻠِﻣﺎﻧَأ ﻦﻣ ﻪﻳﺪﻳ ﺎﻳﺎﻄﺧ تّﺮﺧ ﱠﻻِإ ِﻦﻴَﻘَﻓﺮِﻤﻟا ﻰﻟِإ ِﻪﻳﺪﻳ ﻞِﺴﻐﻳ ﻢﺛ
ﺎﻤﻟا ﻊﻣ ِﻩﺮْﻌَﺷ ِفاﺮﻃَأ ﻦﻣ ِﻪِﺳْأَر ﺎَﻳﺎَﻄَﺧ ْتﱠﺮَﺧ ﱠﻻِإ ، ُﻪَﺳْأَر ُﺢﺴْﻤَﻳ ﻢﺛ
تﺮَﺧ ﱠﻻإ ، ِﻦْﻴَﺒْﻌَﻜﻟا ﻰﻟِإ ِﻪﻴَﻣَﺪَﻗ ﻞِﺴْﻐَﻳ ﻢﺛ ، ِء
ﻪﻟ ﻮه يﺬﻟﺎﺑ ُﻩَﺪﱠﺠﻣَو ِﻪﻴﻠﻋ ﻰَﻨْﺛَأو ، ﻰﻟﺎﻌﺗ ﻪﱠﻠﻟا ِﺪِﻤﺤﻓ ، ﻰﱠﻠﺼﻓ َمﺎﻗ ﻮه نِﺈﻓ ، ِءﺎﻤﻟا ﻊَﻣ ِﻪِﻠِﻣﺎَﻧَأ ﻦﻣ ﻪﻴَﻠْﺟِر ﺎﻳﺎﻄﺧ
ﻰﻟﺎﻌﺗ ﻪﱠﻠﻟ ﻪﺒﻠﻗ َغﱠﺮَﻓَو، ﻞهَأ
.
ِﻪِﺘَﺌْﻴَﻬَآ ِﻪِﺘَﺌﻴﻄﺧ ﻦﻣ َفَﺮَﺼﻧا ﻻِإ
ُﻪﱡﻣُأ ُﻪْﺗَﺪَﻟَو َمﻮﻳ
